Following the recent announcement that Kyle Chandler (The Wolf Of Wall Street) was set to play Millie Bobby Brown's (Stranger Things) father in the Godzilla (2014) sequel, news now arrives via The Hollywood Reporter that Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring) is joining the family to play her mother.
The follow-up to Gareth Edwards' Godzilla – now titled Godzilla: King Of The Monsters – remains largely secret in terms of its story, besides the giant monster action featuring the atomic spawned beastie, of course, but the human element is coming into focus quickly, with The Hollywood Reporter hearing that Chandler's character will be a scientist.
Michael Dougherty (Krampus) is in the director's chair, having impressed Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros with the script he wrote in collaboration with Zach Shields. Godzilla: King Of The Monsters is scheduled to arrive in cinemas 22 March 2019.
Farmiga, meanwhile, will be seen opposite Liam Neeson (Taken) in action thriller The Commuter – which recently shifted release dates to 2018 in the US and will most likely follow suit here – and is currently at work on science fiction film Captive State.
