Kelly Reichardt is back with another film drawing plenty of praise from festival audiences and critics groups alike. Her latest, Certain Women, features regular collaborator Michelle Williams (Meek's Cutoff) alongside Laura Dern (The Fault in Our Stars), Kristen Stewart (The Runaways) and Lily Gladstone (Winter In The Blood).
Certain Women is set in and around the small town of Livingston Montana, where three stories play out. There is lawyer Laura Wells (Dern), who has to deal with a particularly tricky client in Jared Harris' (Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows) Fuller. Then there is Gina (Williams), looking to build her dream home with husband Ryan (James Le Gros) but unsure about the family friend who is supplying the materials.
Then there is Gladstone's unnamed ranch hand, who lives a few miles away, but becomes intrigued by Stewart's legal eagle Elizabeth, who makes extra cash offering law workshops for teachers. The scenery is big, and while the stories may seem small, they are critical for the people involved...
The film, which took home Best Film at last year's BFI London Film Festival, is out in cinemas now.
