With sketch show Inside Amy Schumer on hiatus for the time being, Schumer looks to be fully concentrating on the movies for the foreseeable future. First out of the gate is Snatched, in which the Trainwreck (2015) star teams up with Goldie Hawn – which is something of a coup since it is Hawn's first film since The Banger Sisters (2002).
After her boyfriend dumps her impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (Schumer) persuades her overly cautious mother (Hawn) to accompany her on a vacation to Ecuador. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda soon realise that working through their differences as mother and daughter is the only way to escape the wildly outrageous jungle adventure that they have fallen into.
The script comes from Katie Dippold (The Heat) and is inspired by her relationship with her own mother.
With Joan Cusack (School Of Rock), Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad), Wanda Sykes (Evan Almighty) and Christopher Meloni (Man Of Steel) also in the cast, Snatched is out in the UK on 12 May.
