Donnie Yen set to star In Sleeping Dogs adaption

Despite the high hit and miss ratio of video game adaptations (almost always miss), studios are seemingly intent on developing films from console or PC titles. The latest title to get the treatment is Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs, and now news arrives via Deadine that Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is on to star.

Franchise nurturer and Fast & Furious producer Neal Moritz is backing this one, which will follow an undercover cop (Yen) on a mission to take down one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organisations – the Triads. Well, if anyone can do it, it is certainly Yen.

The star of the Ip Man films, Yen has most recently been seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and xXx: Return Of Xander Cage (2017), and given his martial arts abilities, he will no doubt bring something fresh to the genre, especially if whichever studio sets this one up surrounds him without the right director and other filmmakers.
