With the new Lara Croft in place thanks to the casting of Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), the Tomb Raider reboot is getting ready to shoot. And a new recruit has been added to the film's roster, with news arriving via Variety that Daniel Wu (Warcraft: The Beginning) is joining the team.
Wu, who stars on US TV drama Into The Badlands and played warlike Orc mage Gul'dan in Warcraft: The Beginning (2016) has boarded the movie as Lu Ren, a ship's captain who joins Croft's quest to find her father and clear his name.
The new movie, which has been in development for some time, sets the clock back to Lara's younger days, as the 21-year-old Croft sets off on her first big adventure. Norwegian director Roar Uthaug (The Wave) is calling the shots and Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) – who recently posted a picture of Geneva Robertson-Dworet's script to Instagram – is set to play the villain.
