Rachel McAdams (About Time) has been in slightly more serious films of late, but she is headed back into comedy territory for her latest movie. News arrives via Variety that she will share the screen with Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) in Game Night.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who last brought us Vacation (2015), are back behind the camera for the movie, which has been in development at New Line Cinema since at least 2013. The script, which the directors have re-written based on an original draft by Mark Perez (Accepted), sees several couples gathering for their regular planned game night (one assumes some mild gambling) when something goes terribly wrong.
With the directors attached and two stars in place, this one should start shifting into a higher gear soon enough.
Bateman is currently working on Ozark, a drama series he has developed and created for Netflix, and which is scheduled to arrive at some point later this year. McAdams, meanwhile, has several projects in development, including Sebastián Lelio's (Gloria) period drama Disobedience.
