New trailer and one sheet for horror reboot Rings arrives online

Paramount Pictures have recently released their latest trailer and one sheet for F. Javier Gutiérrez's (Before The Fall) The Ring sequel Rings.

It would appear as though The Ring franchise cannot die. Like the film's creepy monochrome girl, it just keeps coming back for more. What started out as Ringu (1998), a genuinely terrifying Japanese supernatural horror, has since spawned several sequels, two Hollywood remakes starring Naomi Watts, and now a new rebooted sequel, entitled Rings.

The basic concept surrounds a cursed black and white video, featuring a creepy monochrome girl living in a well. If anyone watches it, the phone rings shortly afterwards, and the watcher dies seven days later. It usually involved the creepy monochrome girl creepily climbing out of a television set.

The original films dealt in VHS tapes, but seeing as that format is now considered a charming antique, Rings updates things for the YouTube generation. And as the pluralised title implies, there are now movies within the cursed movie.

Brazilian filmmaker F. Javier Gutierrez is directing this one, with a cast that includes Matilda Lutz (Summertime), Alex Roe (The 5th Wave), Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory) and Vincent D'Onofrio (Jurassic World).

Rings is out in cinemas now.
