Picturehouse Entertainment have recently released their latest quad poster for Paul Verhoeven's (Black Book) latest psychological thriller Elle.
Adapted by David Birke (13 Sins) from Philippe Djian's novel Oh... Elle finds Isabelle Huppert as Michèle Leblanc, the head of a leading video game company who brings the same ruthless attitude to her love life as to business. But when she is raped in her home by an unknown assailant, the ordeal changes her life forever. When she resolutely tracks the man down, they are both drawn into a curious and thrilling game a game that may, at any moment, spiral out of control.
The film is Verhoeven's first feature since Black Book (2006), and his first in the French language. It premiered in competition for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival last year where it received critical acclaim. Elle won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film and Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Huppert's performance is considered to be one of the finest of her career and she was nominated for the Academy Award® for Best Actress. She also won several awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress, the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress, and the Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Actress.
Elle will arrive in UK cinemas on 10 March.
