Rebecca Hall, Kelly Macdonald and Rob Brydon join Holmes And Watson

Talladega Nights (2006) duo Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly ares set to bring their comedy partnership back to the big screen in Sherlock Holmes based comedy knockabout Holmes And Watson. Now news arrives Deadline that three more key character roles have been filled by Rebecca Hall (The Prestige), Kelly Macdonald (No Country For Old Men) and Rob Brydon (The Trip).

Hall has made a deal to play Dr. Grace Hart, the first female doctor to practice in London and no doubt a keen intellectual foil for Holmes. Macdonald will be iconic Arthur Conan Doyle character Mrs. Hudson, the housekeeper perennially frustrated at her charges' antics. As for Brydon, he will be Scotland Yard's Inspector Lestrade, who more often than not needs Holmes' help but also finds him incredibly infuriating.

They are just the latest additions to the film, which Etan Cohen (Get Hard) wrote and is preparing to direct for Sony Pictures. Lauren Lapkus (Jurassic World) joined the film recently, playing a smart woman named Millie. The cameras should be rolling soon for a 2018 release.
