The tale as old as time is getting a live action update as Walt Disney Pictures continue their adaptations of previously animated classic tales into new versions. Beauty And The Beast is on the way next year, and you can find new images of Emma Watson (The Perks Of Being A Wallflower), Dan Stevens (The Guest), Luke Evans (The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug) and more courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
First up is Watson's Belle and Stevens' digitally crafted beast dancing away in one of the classic scenes recreated from the animated feature that became a new high standard for the Mouse House back in 1991. And Watson even tells the magazine that she was fully prepared for the role thanks to a younger life spent watching the original movie. "I can't even think how many times I watched it as a child," she tells Entertainment Weekly. "I knew all the words by heart. I knew all the songs by heart."
Also featured in the pictures, Evans as the arrogant poseur love rival Gaston alongside Josh Gad (Love & Other Drugs) as bumbling assistant Le Fou, plus just a few of the enchanted, servants who have been turned into objects characters, including Ian McKellen's (The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug) clock Cogsworth, Emma Thompson's (Saving Mr. Banks) Mrs. Potts, Ewan McGregor's (The Impossible) candlestick Lumiere and Gugu Mbatha-Raw's (Belle) Plumette. With Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) overseeing the new movie and original Beast veteran composer Alan Menken providing the music, this latest take on the tale will be with us on 17 March.
