The Ocean's Eleven (2001) spin-off Ocean's Eight already has an impressive cast that includes Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Cate Blanchett (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button), Sarah Paulson (Carol) and Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables). But it is apparently set to have a closer tie to the Steven Soderbergh trilogy in its cast as Matt Damon has revealed that he will be cameoing as Linus Caldwell in the movie.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Manchester By The Sea, which he produced, Damon revealed that he will be popping up in Ocean's Eight, but isn't sure yet how it will work out. "I'm doing a little bit in the movie," Damon said. "I haven't read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I'm excited to see what those women do with it. It's going to be fun."
The cameras are rolling now on the film, with Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) directing a story that reportedly involves a heist at the Met Gala. The likes of Rihanna (Battleship), Helena Bonham Carter (The King's Speech) and Mindy Kaling (The Office) are also aboard. There is no word on a release date as yet.
As for Damon, he will be back on our screens in The Great Wall, which is out on 17 February.
