It may have been briefly stuck in release limbo, but the fifth instalment of the vampires versus werewolves fight-fest series Underworld is finally heading our way.
Written by Cory Goodman, Underworld: Blood Wars finds Kate Beckinsale back in the catsuit as the iconic vampire warrior Selene, who must not only battle a resurgent Lycan clan – led by the powerful Marius (Tobias Menzies) – but also the vampire faction that betrayed her. And this time around, both the shapeshifting enemies and her own side are after Selene's blood – literally: it appears to possess some special, pure powers.
Of course, she is not all that thrilled with the idea of either side – including Charles Dance's (Game Of Thrones) vampire leader – taking her life blood, especially when she now seems to be able to channel some new superpowers.
Underworld: Blood Wars will be bringing the fight to us on 3 February 2017.
