Meg LeFauve set to co-direct Gigantic

At last year's Disney D23 event, the Mouse House officially announced its animated Jack And The Beanstalk riffing tale Gigantic, with Tangled (2011) veteran Nathan Greno directing. Now news arrives via The Hollywood Reporter that he will be sharing shot calling duties on the new movie with Inside Out (2015) co-writer Meg LeFauve.

Set in Spain during the age of exploration, this new take on the classic Beanstalk tale finds adventure seeker Jack heading into the clouds in what starts as a fairly traditional take on the fairy tale. But things soon change when he meets Inma, an 11-year-old girl who just so happens to be 60-feet tall and part of a world filled with giants of all shapes and sizes, mostly huge. The most dangerous among them are the Storm Giants, and its these villains that the tiny Jack, along with his giant new friend will have to deal with. The film will feature songs by Frozen's (2013) Academy Award® winning duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

LeFauve, who also was part of the team for Pixar's The Good Dinosaur script and has been at work on Captain Marvel alongside Nicole Perlman (Guardians Of The Galaxy), was contributing to the Gigantic screenplay, but a little like the way Jennifer Lee scored an upgrade to directing on Frozen, she is such a key member of the team now that she will share the directorial workload.

Gigantic should be on screens in November 2018.
