The upcoming young Han Solo Star Wars anthology movie is currently in pre-production. So far, all we know is that Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) has been confirmed to step into Harrison Ford's shoes as the scruffy looking rogue. But now news arrives via Variety that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie) have whittled down a shortlist for their female lead.
According to Variety, three actors are being tested for an unnamed female character. The shortlist includes Tessa Thompson (Creed), Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Naomi Scott (The Martin).
All three tested in London last month, where Lucasfilm have set up a production office with directors Lord and Miller, and where filming is due to commence early next year.
The untitled Han Solo standalone is due to arrive in May 2018, and will be the second Star Wars spin-off movie heading to our screens following Gareth Edward's (Godzilla) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which arrives in cinemas worldwide on 16 December.
