Ben Affleck reveals his new Batman film will be called The Batman

We are starting to learn more about Ben Affleck's (Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice) plans for his solo Batman movie, which he has been co-writing and plans to direct. Talking with The Associated Press, Affleck revealed that the movie's working title is The Batman.

While the title certainly makes logical sense, it may yet head to cinemas under a different moniker. "At least that's what we're going with now," Affleck says in the video below. "I might change it."

What we know so far about the movie is that Affleck is at work on the script with DC Entertainment boss Geoff Johns and that he has cast Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike) as the villainous Deathstroke. "We're working on the script," Affleck says. "The script is going well. I'm really excited about it. And I assure you when there's anything that develops, you'll hear about it."

No release date has been announced for this one as yet, though it will likely fall between The Flash, due to arrive in 2018, and the still vaporous Cyborg movie that is currently pencilled in for a 2020 release.

Affleck can currently be seen in The Accountant and has Live By Night, which he wrote, directed and stars in, due 13 January next year. And finally, there is Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice follow-up Justice League, which recently wrapped filming and will arrive on 17 November 2017.
