A new Bucky bromance could soon be taking shape, with news arriving via The Hollywood Reporter that Sebastian Stan, Captain America's bosom buddy Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is joining another team-up movie in Steven Soderbergh's (Ocean's Eleven) crime flick Logan Lucky.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stan will be playing a three-time champion NASCAR driver who is coming back to the racing circuit after a spell away. In the spirit of Stanley Kubrick's The Killing (1956), a big race, presumably involving Stan, forms the backdrop for a daring heist. The crime is planned by two brothers using the chaos and roar of the racing cars to distract from their scheme.
The film offers an intriguing cast line-up, too. There are a few big screen returns involved, namely for Soderbergh himself to feature filmmaking, Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up) to high profile projects and Daniel Craig to projects outside of playing James Bond.
Also on board are Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street), Hilary Swank (Million Dollar baby), Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Seth MacFarlane (A Million Ways To Die In The West), David Denman (After Earth) and Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road). First time screenwriter Rebecca Blunt is behind the script and it is currently filming in Atlanta.
