Rooney Mara set to star in Brady Corbet's Vox Lux

Brady Corbet won awards for his feature directing debut, The Childhood Of A Leader (2015), and he is currently forging ahead on his next film, music focused drama Vox Lux. We now know who will be starring in the movie, with news arriving via The Hollywood Reporter that Rooney Mara (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) has landed the lead.

Vox Lux, which Corbet plans to shoot on 65mm film for screening in 70mm, is planned as a 15-year story that spans from 1999 until the present day. Mara will play Celeste, a singer who rises to superstardom and observes the 21st century's big cultural changes.

And to make sure the music itself is authentic, he has scored the services of Sia to provide original songs for the movie and soundtrack. Brady has written the script and will start shooting in February.

Mara can currently be heard as part of the voice cast for Kubo And The Two Strings and has several movies on the way, including Terrence Malick's (Tree Of Life) Weightless and drama Lion.
