Amazaon Studios have recently released their first one sheet for Jim Jarmusch's (Broken Flowers) new indie drama Paterson.
Jarmusch's first film since Only Lovers Left Alive (2013) sees Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) actually playing a driver. His bus driver is called Paterson who also lives in Paterson, New Jersey, where we are invited to spend a week with him as he goes about his daily business and spends time with his girlfriend (Golshifteh Farahani). He has a dog (not called Paterson) and writes poetry in his spare time – and there is a lot of it.
It is not as existentially torpid as it sounds. Early word has Jarmusch crafting a typically distinctive character study that is by turns mellow and insightful. Driver could probably hold the screen reciting a phonebook, so we are certainly intrigued to see how this suburban dude plays out on screen.
Paterson is released in the UK on 25 November.
