Kaitlyn Dever joins Kathryn Bigelow's Detroit riots drama

Already in production on her new movie, an untitled drama that takes place during a turbulent time in 1960s Detroit, Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) is still adding actors. News arrives via The Hollywood Reporter that Kaitlyn Dever (The Spectacular Now) and Hannah Murray (Game Of Thrones) are now aboard.

Bigelow's latest will unspool its story against the backdrop of destructive riots that spread across the city of Detroit in 1967, the result of pent-up rage at racism and police raids. Dever and Murray are, according to The Hollywood Reporter, playing the feamle leads in the movie, which also features Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker), Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner), Algee Smith (Earth to Echo), Will Poulter (The Revenant), Ben O'Toole (The Water Diviner), Jack Reynor (Glassland) and John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

Mark Boal (Zero Dark Thirty) has written the script and Bigelow is directing the film in Boston. Dever has appeared in movies such as Laggies (2014), Men, Women & Children (2014) and broke out big in Short Term 12 (2013). Murray plays Gilly on Game Of Thrones and has been seen in movies such as The Numbers Station (2013) and Bridgend (2015).
