New trailer and one sheet for Moonlight arrives online

A24 Films have recently released their first trailer and one sheet for Barry Jenkins' (Medicine For Melancholy) Moonlight.

Moonlight, an intimate coming of age film set in 1980s Miami, promises to be an unflinching look at being black and gay in the US.

Set during Reagan's War on Drugs, it tells the story of Chiron as he falls in love and discovers his own sexuality, all while dealing with a dysfunctional home life and learning to embrace his own definition of masculinity. Three actors – Ashton Sanders (Straight Outta Compton), Trevante Rhodes (If Loving You Is Wrong) and newcomer Alex R. Hibbert – play Chiron at different stages of his life.

With André Holland (42), Naomie Harris (Skyfall), Mahershala Ali (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button) and singer Janelle Monáe rounding out the cast, Moonlight will arrive in US cinemas on 21 October but has yet to secure a UK release date.
