Director Anthony Maras is currently busy setting up the based on truth drama Hotel Mumbai and already has the likes of Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) and Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland) aboard. Now news arrives via Deadline that he has just added Jason Isaacs (Fury) to the cast list.
Maras and co-writer John Collee (Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World) have based their script on 2009 documentary Surviving Mumbai, itself a chronicle of the horrific terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India in 2008. For more than 68 hours, hundreds of people were held hostage by Islamic militant attackers and gunfire soon rang out as the building also began to blaze.
164 people died and at least 308 were injured, though the heroic efforts of a few ensured that many more were saved.
Isaacs has drama The Investigator out in cinemas now and will also be seen in horror thriller A Cure For Wellness and Armando Iannucci's (Veep) next film, The Death Of Stalin.
