New TV spot for Pedro Almodóvar's Julieta arrives online

Pathe UK have recently released their latest TV spot for Pedro Almodóvar's (Talk To Her) Julieta.

Bouncing back from the uneven I'm So Excited (2013), Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar is back with a much more accomplished effort in the emotional drama Julieta.

Julieta spans 30 years in the life of its title character, a teacher who has a chance encounter with a handsome fisherman on a train but whose life with him – and daughter – are thrown into turmoil a few years later. The girl, now 18, disappears, seemingly lost to her mother forever and with few clues as to her whereabouts.

Emma Suárez (The Red Squirrel) plays the 55-year-old Julieta and Adriana Ugarte (Palm Trees In The Snow) is the younger version. A film about the passage of time and the wounds it can leave, it certainly looks to be a return to form for Almodóvar. It is also a callback to some of his earlier films, All About My Mother (1999) in particular.

Julieta is out in cinemas now.
