Eyebrows were certainly raised when Helen Mirren (The Queen) revealed that she would be part of the cast for the latest Fast & Furious outing. But she wasn't kidding, and now Vin Diesel has taken to Instagram with a picture of his Dominic Toretto and Mirren's mysterious character.
Neither Diesel nor Mirren has said anything about what she will be doing in the film, though her hopes (and ours) were crushed slightly when she recently told Entertainment Weekly that she won't get to drive as part of her small role in the movie. "I wanted to be driving, but unfortunately, I'm not," she said. "Maybe that will come in the future, in Fast & Furious 12... I'm probably one of the few people on the set who know how to drive a gearshift car. I doubt the Rock knows... But I do. I know how to double declutch." Let's hope she finally gets her chance in a future instalment.
Fast 8, which is still shooting, includes returning veterans Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez, alongside more recent additions Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell and new franchise faces Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road), Scott Eastwood (Fury) and Kristofer Hivju (Game Of Thrones). With F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) on directing duties, Fast 8 will be out in the UK on 14 April.
