Ben Foster set to join Christian Bale in Hostiles

With cameras already rolling on Scott Cooper's (Black Mass) latest movie Hostiles, news arrives via Deadline that Ben Foster (3:10 To Yuma) is set to join Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Rises) in the new frontier drama.

Hostiles will mark a reunion for Bale and Foster, who previously worked together on James Mangold's underrated western 3:10 To Yuma (2007).

Set in 1892, Hostiles finds Bale as a legendary Army Captain, a man with no love for Native Americans after years of conflict, agreeing to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands. But the journey will not be an easy one – they have to make it from an isolated military outpost in New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana while overcoming the challenges of the landscape and hostile Comanche tribes. But they also encounter a young widow (Rosamund Pike) who is making a similar trip, and must join forces if they are all to survive.

Foster joins a cast that already also includes West Studi (Avatar), Adam Beach (Flags Of Our Fathers), Q'orianka Kilcher (The New World), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Peter Mullan (War Horse), Michael Parks (Django Unchained) and singer and actor Ryan Bingham, a veteran of Cooper's country music drama Crazy Heart (2009), who will be appearing and composing songs for this one. Hostiles is shooting in New Mexico and should be out next year.
