Michael Fassbender and Ridley Scott feature in the latest Alien: Covenant image

Director Ridley Scott (Prometheus) and The Alien: Covenant team have been been hard at work on the new film. Several images from the film have been released, including this shot of Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice). Now the movies' official Twitter feed has recently posted our latest look behind the scenes.

Alien: Covenant finds the colony ship heading for a remote planet, a place that the crew initially thinks is an uncharted paradise but turns out to be dark and full of terrors. And the only inhabitant is synthetic life form David (Michael Fassbender), who claims to be the lone survivor of the Prometheus mission. Is he telling the truth? Well, given that Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw is apparently not returning for this one, he is right, even if he might not be telling the whole story.

Scott, working this time from a script by Michael Green (Green Lantern) and Jack Paglen (Transcendence), has Waterston, Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Jussie Smolett (Empire), Amy Seimetz (You're Next), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills), Billy Crudup (Watchmen) and Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down) aboard this one. Alien: Covenant will land here on 4 August next year.
