Elizabeth Banks joins Sandra Bullock in all female Ocean's Eleven

Hollywood executives (and most right minded people) will no doubt be praying that the fast developing all female Ocean s Eleven doesn't incur the same levels of bizarre online fury the new Ghostbusters has been burdened with. The casting department has been making plenty of sound moves so far, and now news arrives via Showbiz 411 that Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) and Mindy Kaling (The Office) the latest rumoured to be joining the heist caper.

Cate Blanchett (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button) added her Oscar pedigree to Sandra Bullock's (Gravity) this week when she officially committed to the Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven) produced reboot. Helena Bonham Carter (Great Expectations) is also officially practising her sleight of hand in advance of the movie's criminal high jinx.

Ross is rumoured to have passed the script by Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games) as a possible addition, although it is looking like the schedule – with the film aiming to shoot later this year – won't work for her even if she were interested.

While this one won't be a direct facsimile of the Soderbergh directed Ocean's films, Olivia Milch's script does apparently have Bullock and Blanchett reprising the Brad Pitt and George Clooney buddy dynamic.

It is certainly intriguing stuff. The shoot kicks off in New York in early 2017.
