New TV spot for 10 Cloverfield Lane arrives online

Paramount Pictures have just released their latest TV spot for Dan Trachtenberg's feature debut 10 Cloverfield Lane.

In keeping with producer J.J. Abrams' usual methods, the trailers for 10 Cloverfield Lane have adeptly kept us wondering about the central mystery while proving enough to stimulate guesses. The new TV spot continues that tradition.

Described as a "blood relative" to Matt Reeves' found footage monster movie Cloverfield (2008), 10 Cloverfield Lane has Mary Elizabeth Winstead's (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World) Michelle waking up following a car accident in what appears to be a secure doomsday shelter. In charge is John Goodman's (Argo) Howard, who warns that everyone outside is dead. The only other person seemingly in the place is John Gallagher Jr.'s (Short Term 12) so far unnamed character, who here says he was trying to get into the shelter.

But Michelle is suspicious of Howard's motives – especially since she regains consciousness handcuffed to a bed – and despite his claim that he is trying to keep her alive, she tries to make a break for it. We will have to wait and see what she truly discovers...

Produced by J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and shot in secrecy by Dan Trachtenberg from a script by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken and Damien Chazelle (Whiplash), 10 Cloverfield Lane is out on 18 March.
