New Jason Bourne Super Bowl TV spot and one sheet arrives online

Universal Pictures have recently released their Super Bowl TV spot and new one sheet for Paul Greengrass' (Captain Phillips) Jason Bourne.

After labouring for ages as the untitled Bourne movie, the new adventures of Matt Damon's (Elysium) government asset turned rogue warrior will now be called Jason Bourne.

It is certainly a break from the previous tradition of naming them in the Robert Ludlum style of The Bourne series, but does work given that Bourne still retains his full memory, so he knows who he is. Or at least who he was meant to be. And might that hint at more revelations to come?

And Damon certainly does seem to be in lithe fighting shape – certainly leaner and meaner than in The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). There is still no proper plot synopsis for what the former government asset will be up to this time, though Damon has said it will reflect our financially risky times and is firmly set in a post-Edward Snowden world. Take that for what you will, but the last time we saw him, Bourne was doing some whistleblowing of his own, releasing the information about the illegal program codenamed Treadstone that created him and then going firmly off the grid.

With Julia Stiles set to return as Nicky Parsons and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Tommy Lee Jones (No Country For Old Men) and Vincent Cassell (Black Swan) aboard, the new Bourne will be with us on 29 July.
