First teaser trailer for Sing arrives online

Universal Pictures have recently released their first teaser trailer for Garth Jennings' (Son Of Rambow) Sing.

Having conquered the world with Despicable Me (2010) and Minions (2015), Illumination Entertainment are hoping you will fall for their animal adventures too. The Secret Life Of Pets is due on 24 June, and after that, the company are set to unleash the critter filled world of Sing.

Sing is set in a universe entirely inhabited by talking animals where koala impresario Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) is desperate to save the theatre he runs. Buster will do anything to keep it, and decides that the best way is via the world's biggest singing competition.

As the rounds continue, five main contenders emerge – a mouse (Seth McFarlane) who is a crook with a smooth voice, a teenage elephant (Tori Kelly), a busy mother sow (Reese Witherspoon), who juggles the demands of her 25 piglets with her singing ambitions, a young, tough gorilla (Taron Egerton) and a punk rock porcupine with the proven pipes of Scarlett Johansson (Lucy). But who will win?

With the presence of Son Of Rambow director (2007) Garth Jennings calling the shots, we are hopeful this will represent more than just a chance to shoehorn in a variety of popular songs to crowd the soundtrack and generate buzz.

Sing is set to arrive in the UK next January.
