Fast & Furious 9 and 10 are the first films to land in their respective slots, with 10 being the first film to confirm a release date for 2021. Even Star Wars and Marvel haven't quite done that yet.
In terms of plot, nothing has been revealed as yet. Indeed we don't even know that much about Fast & Furious 8. And after Fast & Furious 10? All indications so far are that it will wrap up the main series with, no doubt, some extensive automotive madness and mayhem. But there is always that extended spin-off Fast & Furious movie universe to keep things ticking over in perpetuity.
Fast & Furious 8, coming off the astonishing $1.5 billion success of Furious 7, will, of course, star Vin Diesel, with Dwayne Johnson also confirmed as returning, and the rest of the surviving regulars and Kurt Russell looking like strong possibilities. F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is the director this time, with the film set to arrive 14 April next year.
