Sandra Bullock set to star in all female Ocean's Eleven

With Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat), Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) playing the new Ghostbusters (1984), and at least two female takes on The Expendables (2010) in development, it is the turn of another big franchise to get a gender swap. News arrives via The Playlist that Sandra Bullock (Gravity) is reportedly ready to star for Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) in a new take on Ocean's Eleven (2001).

According to The Playlist, this has been in the works for some time with original trilogy director Steven Soderbergh involved alongside the modern day Danny Ocean himself, George Clooney, and Ocean's Eleven behind the scenes mainstay Jerry Weintraub, who died in July. It appears things are moving along rapidly, with writer Olivia Milch currently at work on a script.

The exact plot details of that screenplay remain locked in a casino's vault for now, so we don't know how – if at all – it will tie into the Soderbergh/Clooney Ocean's Eleven trilogy or even quite what shape it will take. But Bullock, who is currently on US screens now in Our Brand Is Crisis, in a lead role developed for Clooney, is certainly on board to star and Ross may end up making the movie once he has finished work on his latest, Free State Of Jones.
