Aaron Paul and Carice van Houten set for The Parts You Lose

Aaron Paul may not have had the best luck in big movies – especially the disappointing Need For Speed (2014) – but he has been putting in solid performances in indie outings. Now news arrives via The Wrap that Paul is set to produce and star alongside Carice van Houten (Black Book) in The Parts You Lose.

Dutch director Paula van der Oest (The Domino Effect) is behind this one, with Darren Lemke (Jack The Giant Slayer) scripting the tale of a young, hearing impaired lad called Wesley who encounters an injured, potentially dangerous fugitive (Aaron Paul) in a North Dakota town. The two quickly and unexpectedly bond, and Wesley finds the strength to deal with the stresses of life.

Van Houten's role isn't mentioned in The Wrap's report, but she could be playing the boy's mother. The Parts You Lose is scheduled to kick off shooting early next year in Canada. Paul has John Hillcoat's (Lawless) Triple Nine arriving on 19 February and appears in action comedy Central Intelligence with Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious 6) and Kevin Hart (Ride Along), which is due on 1 July. Van Houten, meanwhile, will be seen in Western thriller Brimstone and Jesse Owens biopic Race.
