Rosamund Pike set for political thriller High Wire Act

Back in May, it was revealed that Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and director Brad Anderson (The Call) were attached to political action thriller, High Wire Act. Now news arrives via Variety that Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) will also be on board.

Written by Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton), the film is set in 1980s Beirut and finds Hamm as a former American diplomat returned to service to save an old colleague from the violent group believed to be responsible for his own family's death. Pike is set to play a CIA agent assigned to keep him alive and make sure the mission is a success.

There is still no sign of when the film might kick off shooting, as it is still listed in development and both its stars' schedules are relatively busy. Hamm is at work on Greg Mottola's (Superbad) new comedy Keeping Up With The Joneses, and is part of the sprawling cast for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp, which hits Netflix in one batch of episodes on the 31 July.

Pike, meanwhile, is attached to A United Kingdom, Cédric Jimenez's (The Connection) novel adaptation HHhH, romantic drama The Mountain Between Us and Jean Luc Herbulot's (Dealer) oceanic action thriller The Bends.
