As the cameras continue to roll on Paul Feig's Ghostbusters, the Bridesmaids (2011) director has added another cast member to his ever expanding ensemble. News arrives via Deadline that writer and actor Neil Casey (Saturday Night Live) is now on board.
A veteran of Saturday Night Live, Casey is aboard to play a mysterious character named Rowan who will become one of the big villains of the film. It doesn't sound as though he is playing a massive supernatural threat (unless he turns into one), so perhaps he will be one of the more good natured nuisances that new Ghostbusters Melissa McCarthy (Heat), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live) have to deal with?
His casting comes on the heels of word that Andy Garcia (Oceans 12), Matt Walsh (Ted) and Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years A Slave) are all aboard the movie, which Feig is currently shooting in Boston. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) was announced a while ago as playing the assistant to the main characters when they take up the fight against a ghostly invasion of New York. Not until, however, they overcome the scepticism of everyone around them.
They do at least have some wheels to run around in, as seen in a new picture tweeted by Feig. It will probably need some suspension work and shocks. Brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end. Also new rings, mufflers, a little wiring...
The new Ghostbusters will be out here in July next year.
