Director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) has already taken to Twitter to reveal the new Ghostbusters uniforms, hanging forlornly empty on a rail. But now we have our first look at those famous boiler suits in action, as worn by Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat), Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live). There is a certain car too...
Feig has so far been keeping many of the details about the new movie close to his chest, but we do know that the basic story, written by the director and Katie Dippold (The Heat) finds Wiig and McCarthy as a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University. All is well, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan.
Chris Hemsworth (Thor) is set to play the assistant to the spirit chasing team, which will expand to include McKinnon and Jones. Recent additions to the cast also include Matt Walsh (Ted) and Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years A Slave).
Ghostbusters is set for release on 22 July next year.
