With Jones behind the camera, working from the script he wrote with Gavin Scott (Small Soldiers), Absolutely Anything finds Pegg as Neil, a secondary school teacher who is the very definition of the everyman.
But when a group of extra-terrestrials – voiced by Jones alongside old Monty Python cohorts John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle and Michael Palin – decide that it would be fun to hand him amazing powers, Neil's life begins to change – and not always for the better. And, as you will see from the clip, ends up bestowing the power of speech to his loyal pooch Dennis. Dennis is voiced in the film by the late great Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), who completed his work in the recording booth before his death in August last year.
Neil will ultimately face a choice that comes down to between the woman he loves (Catherine, played by Kate Beckinsale) and man's best friend.
Absolutely Anything is due to hit cinemas on 13 February.
