Naturally inclined to indulge in more 'toy bear comes to life' madness after Ted (2012) became a massive success at the box office, the sequel sees co-writer director/voice of Ted MacFarlane and human sidekick Mark Wahlberg back for more bodily fluid humour in the story of Ted's attempt to prove he is a real person in the eyes of the law.
Our furry hero has married his girlfriend Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) and now the pair want to have a baby. There are just two tiny impediments to this plan. Ted, for obvious reasons, is unable to reproduce and so will need the help of Wahlberg's John as a sperm donor. And to become a parent, he must also be recognised as a legal person, so he consults lawyer Samantha L. Jackson (Amanda Seyfried) and receives some help from a legendary civil rights legality crusader, played by Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Rises). But don't be fooled into thinking this has suddenly become a highbrow courtroom drama, there is still plenty of lowbrow humour to be found, plus vehicular mayhem and another scrap between the thunder buddies. Not to mention the return of Patrick Stewart (X-Men) on narration duty.
Ted 2 also features the likes Of Liam Neeson (Taken), Patrick Warburton (Ted), Dennis Haysbert (Sin City: A Dame To Kill For), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Richard Schiff (Man Of Steel), Martin Klebba (Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End), Sam Jones (Flash Gordon) and Ron Canada (Wedding Crashers).
Ted 2 will darken our cinematic doorway on 10 July.
