Ginsburg is a compelling subject for a biopic, a woman who has spent her career championing women's rights and smashes the glass ceiling more than once. She co-founded the first law journal on the subject of gender equality, became the first woman professor tenured at Columbia university. In 1993, Bill Clinton nominated her to the Supreme Court, making her the first female Jewish Justice.
Daniel Stiepleman wrote the script for the film, which tracks Ginsburg's career and achievements, with Marielle Heller (Diary Of A Teenage Girl) in talks to direct for Focus Features. There is no sign yet when the movie might start shooting.
Currently circling Garland's novel adaptation Annihilation, Portman has been busy working on her directorial debut, A Tale Of Love And Darkness, which she recently brought to the Cannes Film Festival to show to distributors. She will also be seen in Jane Got A Gun (4 September) and Terrence Malick's (Tree Of Life) Knight Of Cups, which has a reported UK release date on 1 January 2016.
