How did we never spot this secret? Watch how Walt Disney animators recycled movie scenes

We all enjoyed watching classic Walt Disney films as a child. But did we really watch them closely enough?

Surprising new videos have revealed how Disney animators recycled animation loops, meaning that choreography and motion sequences from their back catalogue follow the same patterns.

Snow White and Maid Marian dance in precisely the same way, while Mowgli and Christopher Robin climb in exactly the same manner.

"Disney animators frequently used to recycle footage from older animated films," YouTube poster Movie Munchies explains. "They would draw over existing animation cells to make new scenes with characters with similar designs, characteristics, and movements. This is also known as rotoscoping."

Elsewhere, Sleeping Beauty (1959) reuses animation and there are undoubtedly similarities between 101 Dalmations (1961) and The Sword In The Stone (1963).

It would seem that if you have seen one Disney film, you have seen them all!
