Hailee Steinfeld set for Break My Heart 1,000 Times

No stranger to adaptations of novels, Hailee Steinfeld (Ender's Game) is making a deal to star in another. News arrives via The Wrap that she is leading the cast for a new film based on supernatural romantic young adult thriller Break My Heart 1,000 Times.

Daniel Waters is the author behind this one, creating the story of a world in which a cataclysmic event leaves the barrier between our world and that of the dead torn asunder. The result is ghost-like essences of the deceased known as Remnants becoming part of every day life. But after years of relatively peaceful life together, one of the Remnants sends a young woman (Steinfeld) a threatening message, spurring her on a mission that will change her life.

Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift) wrote the adaptation and Scott Speer (Step Up Revolution) is aboard to call the shots in what Gold Circle Films hopes will be a franchise spawning movie.

Steinfeld will next be on our screens in Pitch Perfect 2, out on 15 May. She has also worked on Barely Lethal and Vince Vaughn's (The Internship) graphic novel adaptation Term Life, both of which have yet to lock in UK release dates.
