First look at Suicide Squad cast in costume arrives online

Following the recent reveal of Jared Leto (Dallas Buyer Club) as The Joker – or at least one version of what he will look like – David Ayer (Fury) has released the first official look at the Suicide Squad cast.

While Leto's Joker is absent from this group shot in front of a Belle Reve Penitentiary, it does include Will Smith (I Am Legend) as Deadshot and Margot Robbie (The Wolf Of Wall Street) as Harley Quinn. Also present are Adam Beach (Flags Of Our Fathers) as Slipknot, Jai Courtney (Jack Reacher) as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne (Anna Karenina) as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop) as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Thor: The Dark World) as Killer Croc and Jay Hernandez (Hostel) as El Diablo. Not present in the line-up are Viola Davis (Prisoners) as Amanda Waller, Scott Eastwood (Fury) as Steve Trevor, Jim Parrack (Fury) as Jonny Frost and Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors) who is reportedly playing Hugo Strange.

There has also been some speculative chatter regarding Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) reprising his Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice role as Lex Luthor, and even talk of a cameo from Ben Affleck's (Gone Girl) Batman, though all that remains firmly in the rumour mill for now.

Ayer has also posted a shot of Smith's Headshot in full costume.

Suicide Squad, as you may know by now, brings to life the comic book adventures of a group of DC Comics villains and anti-heroes coerced by shadowy government forces into completing hazardous missions with the lure of pardons or reduced punishments. Ayer is taking aim an 5 August 2016 release date and his film will be the first of the new DC Entertainment titles to follow Zack Synder's (Man Of Steel) Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
