Miltos Yerolemou set for Star Wars: Episode VII role

With one Westeros resident already in the cast – in the shape of Gwendoline Christie – J.J. Abrams and his Star Wars: Episode VII casting team have clearly not finished recruiting Game Of Thrones actors. News comes via the BBC that Miltos Yerolemou has scored a small role in the new film.

Though production on the latest Star Wars has been underway for months (pausing recently to reconfigure schedules after Harrison Ford's leg was broken on set), Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm are apparently still bringing actors aboard to supplement the cast, which already includes Star Wars veterans Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and new saga arrivals John Boyega (Attack The Block), Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (About Time), Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave), Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones), Max von Sydow (Shutter Island), Christina Chong (W.E.), Crystal Clarke and Pip Anderson.

Details on Yerolemou's role have yet to be revealed, to almost no-one's surprise. But while you might remember him best as Syrio Forel, who taught Maisie Williams' Arya Stark to sword fight in the first season of the show, the actor has had extensive fight training and other experience, leading to speculation that he may end up with a lightsaber in his hand.

Yerolemou is currently at work on the TV adaptation of Wolf Hall alongside Mark Rylance (Anonymous) and Jonathan Pryce (G.I. Joe: Retaliation). Star Wars: Episode VII, meanwhile, remains on track to arrive on 18 December 2015.
