The Conjuring was something of a sleeper hit when it arrived last summer, so chances are many of you may already have met Annabelle, the creepy doll featured at the very beginning of James Wan's horror. Annabelle follows John (Ward Horton) and Mia Form (Annabelle Wallis), a young couple happily expecting their first child. But when the beautiful (depending on how you look at it) vintage doll John buys for his wife attracts the attention of an obsessed satanic cult, things go horribly wrong for them and, more violently, their neighbours.
Surviving that initial incident, the couple moves to a new house, but discover that Annabelle has somehow made the trip with them. Sadly, they don't at first make the connection between the creepy object and the horror that befell them last time, but they soon learn that the doll has a demon attached to it, one determined to make their lives a living hell.
With John R. Leonetti inheriting directorial duties from James Wan and Gary Dauberman (Swamp Devil) providing the script this time, Annabelle also features Alfre Woodard (12 Years A Slave), Eric Ladin (The Killing), Tony Amendola and Michelle Romano (The Darkness Within). The horror will be upon us on 10 October.
