New image of Ben Affleck as Batman arrives online

While he may not look a day over 40, the Batman character turns 75 this year – and to mark the occasion, Warner Bros have unveiled a new image of Ben Affleck (Runner Runner) as the Caped Crusader.

The image, first released at the DC Comics booth on the main floor at this years Comic Con in San Diego, has also just been tweeted by Zack Snyder (Man Of Steel), director of the forthcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. And while it doesn't give away much more than the first look at Affleck's Batman (see below), which debuted a few months back, this one certainly gives us a better sense if impressive cowl design. Not to mention Affleck's epic chin.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, of course, follows the fallout from Man Of Steel's chaotic battles, with Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) exploiting uncertainties about Superman (Henry Cavill) for his own ends. Not to mention Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) joining the action. Snyder is busy rolling the cameras now in Detroit and beyond, with Laurence Fishburne (Contagion), Amy Adams (American Hustle), Jeremy Irons (Beautiful Creatures), Holly Hunter (Paradise), Diane Lane (Secretariat), Jason Momoa (Conan The Barbarian), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) and Callan Mulvey (Zero Dark Thirty) in front of his lens.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is set for worldwide release on 6 May 2016.
