This image of course joins the first look at Ben Affleck's Batman, including new Batmobile, back in May. Both images point to a considerably darker outing for the heroes, with both looking pretty sombre. Not to mention the background to this shot looking remarkably like Gotham City, which strongly suggests that Superman is in the Dark Knight's back yard.
Snyder also spoke to the paper about his film, emphasising that that title's "V" is a way "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way." He also stated his relish for an older, established take on Batman because, "it's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys."
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, of course, picks up the story amid the fallout from Man Of Steel (2013) as the likes of Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) figure out how to exploit paranoia about Earth's newly discovered alien adopted son, while Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is also interested in his motives.
The film will feature returning Man Of Steel cast members Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, with Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) aboard as Wonder Woman alongside Jeremy Irons (Beautiful Creatures), Holly Hunter (Paradise), Diane Lane (Secretariat), Jason Momoa (Conan The Barbarian), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine), Callan Mulvey (Zero Dark Thirty) and Scoot McNairy (Argo). Zack Snyder (300) is busy cranking the cameras now, with the film set for a UK release on 29 April 2016.
