Bryan Singer plans Days Of Future Past director's cut

While X-Men: Days Of Future Past has been a huge success, one group of mutant fans were unhappy with how their favourite character appeared in the film. Which is to say: briefly. Now it appears those who wanted to see more of Anna Paquin's (True Blood) power-siphoning Rogue may just get their wish. X-Men: Days Of Future Past producer Lauren Shuler Donner answered a question regarding a potential director's cut on Twitter recently with some promising news.

Whether this means that Rogue's scenes – which included a subplot where Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) team up to rescue her from a Sentinel guarded prison in order to help the team keep Logan (Hugh Jackman) in the past – will be fully re-instated into the films running time or whether they will simply show up as an extra on Blu-ray remains to be seen. Either way, the Rogue squadron should finally get their wish and see more of her narrative.

Writer/producer Simon Kinberg commented, when the original story about Rogue being reduced to a cameo broke, that her replacement of the injured Kitty Pryde didn't help the plot, so that might not make it beyond a deleted scenes collection. And we already know that will be present because director Bryan Singer recently tweeted about working on it.

Days Of Future Past is yet to receive a set home entertainment release date, primarily because it's still busy hoovering up cash at cinemas ($724 million and counting worldwide), but it will likely hit Blu-ray and other formats closer to Christmas.
