"We're not meant to save the world. We're meant to leave it!"

Warner Bros have recently released their first full trailer for Christopher Nolan's (The Dark Knight Rises) Interstellar, which finally introduces us to Matthew McConaughey's (Dallas Buyers Club) lead, Cooper.

Cooper is, we learn, "an educated man, a trained pilot and an engineer", but his technical skills are more or less irrelevant in a world that's running low on food and fuel. Thank goodness, then, for Michael Caine's (Harry Brown) visionary, who has a plan to send a team of specialists into the unknown reaches of space in order to find new residence for the human race – and he needs Cooper to make the trip. With two young children at home, it's not an easy decision, but soon Cooper's off amongst the stars as the weather worsens back home.

Interstellar sees McConaughey and Caine alongside Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables), Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games), Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone), Michael Caine (Inception), David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher), Topher Grace (Predators), Mackenzie Foy (The Conjuring), John Lithgow (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) and Ellen Burstyn (W.), and will hit UK cinemas on 7 November.
