Toby Kebbell set to play Doctor Doom

Last month, 20th Century Fox announced they were circling likely candidates to play Victor Von Doom, the man who will be the primary nemesis for the new heroes in Josh Trank's (Chronicle) fresh take on the Fantastic Four comics. According to Variety, Toby Kebbell (War Horse) is set to play the masked villain hailing from the fictional nation of Latveria.

With Trank set to kick off shooting any time soon, the casting has been falling into place pretty quickly. Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now), Kate Mara (127 Hours), Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) and Jamie Bell (The Adventures Of Tintin) are already on board as the four heroes Reed 'Mr. Fantastic' Richards, Sue 'Invisible Girl' Storm, Johnny 'Human Torch' Storm and Ben 'The Thing' Grimm.

Kebbell had reportedly been up against Domhnall Gleeson (About Time), Sam Riley (Brighton Rock) and Eddie Redmayne (Les Misérables) for the role of Doctor Doom. He's certainly on Fox's radar thanks to his role in the forthcoming Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and his work on the World Of Warcraft adaption for director Duncan Jones (Source Code).

While Variety's story cautions that no deal is in place yet, it would appear to be a matter of hammering out the final details. Assuming everything is figured out, Kebbell and co will be on screens from 18 June next year.
