"Nothing is as strong as family..."

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies have just released a brand new TV spot and character one sheets for Jonathan Liebesman's (Wrath Of The Titans) cinematic take on the beshelled pizza loving heroes in a half-shell, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This short clip features some footage we saw in the earlier teaser, but also includes our first (albeit brief) look at Splinter, who was played on set by Danny Woodburn (Mirror Mirror) in a performance capture suit, but who will be voiced by Tony Shalhoub (Pain & Gain). Here, he can be found explaining to his adoptive turtle teens what they're fighting for.

With some shake-ups in the mythology (not the least of which appears to be more of a connection between April, Shredder and the Turtles' origin) the film is expected to feature a lot of the main characters being teenage ninjas who also happen to be walking, talking, turtles as they discover their origin and fight evil.

The voices of the turtles still seems to be in flux, with only Johnny Knoxville (The Last Stand) cast as the voice of Leonardo, and as yet no word yet on who will voice Donnatello, Michelangelo and Raphael.

With Michael Bay as Executive Producer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also features Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), Pete Ploszek (Shameless), Jeremy Howard (Accepted), Noel Fisher (Battles Los Angeles), Will Arnett (Jonah Hex) and Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Act).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrives here on 17 October.
