New Anchorman 2 character one sheet as Veronica Corningstone hits New York

With Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) and Champ Kind (David Koechner) getting their chance to stomp all over New York with their super sized character one sheets for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, it seemed only fair that Christina Applegate's Veronica Corningstone was handed her chance to do the same.

As some of you many remember from the first film, Veronica and Will Ferrell's Ron were rival news anchors who became lovers. As we pick up the story in the sequel, Ron and Veronica have been married for a few years and their relationship has, frankly, crumbled. No more sexcapades on the most glorious rainbow ever for these two. Both dally with potential new partners – Veronica with Greg Kinnear's Gary and Ron with Meagan Good's Linda Jackson – but does this really spell the end for the epic Burgundy Corningstone partnership?

This time around, which arrives more than nine years after the release of 2004's Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy, sees the mustachioed Lothario and the news team transferring to a new 24-hour news channel in the Big Apple.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues also features the return of Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson, while there are said to be cameos from Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Sacha Baron Cohen and Jim Carrey, among others. Look out too for a bubble permed Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), as potential love interest for Carell's Tamland.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will hit UK cinemas on 20 December.
